We educate about the myths, stereotypes, and stigma that reinforce the silence about mental illness and suicide.

Breaking the Silence / New Mexico (BTS/NM) offers a stigma-busting curriculum for upper elementary, middle, and high school students, which focuses on mental illness and suicide awareness.

Through personal stories, activities, and information, students learn about mental illness and the importance of professional and peer support.

In addition to classroom presentations, BTS/NM offers professional development for educators and community forums.

Our mission promotes mental health literacy, well-being, and advocacy for youth, teens, and adults through education, personal story, and the arts. Our primary focus is the public health challenge of mental illness, suicide, and stigma.
