Jan 23, 2026 –

Dear Community and Friends,

As we step into a new year, I can’t help but to begin with gratitude. Because of your support, Breaking the Silence New Mexico continues to bring hope, education, and life-saving conversations to youth, teens and adults across our state.

For many, January is a time of reflection, renewal, and recommitment. It is also a reminder that mental health does not take a break when the holidays end. For many, this season can feel heavy- marked by loneliness, financial stress, grief, or emotional exhaustion. Our mission at BTSNM remains clear: to break stigma, normalize mental health conversations, and ensure that no one suffers in silence.

I want to take a moment to recognize the incredible people behind this work. Our dedicated team and Board of Directors continue to show up with compassion, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to the communities we serve. Their leadership, advocacy, and tireless efforts are the backbone of this organization. I am deeply grateful for their belief in the work we do and the countless hours they give to ensure Breaking the Silence New Mexico continues to grow and serve with purpose.

Over the past year, we have expanded our educational resources, supported youth and families, partnered with schools, communities, and construction industries, and continued advocating for culturally responsive mental health resources in New Mexico. Lives are being changed and saved because people like you believe in our mission.

In 2026, we are committed to deepening our impact. Our goals include expanding outreach to rural and underserved communities, launching our Youth Advisory Program, and providing easier access to our education for parents.

Whether you volunteered, sponsored fundraisers, donated, attended events, shared our message or simply started courageous conversations in your own circles, you are part of this movement. Together we are creating a culture where mental health is talked about openly, where seeking help is encouraged, and silence is replaced with compassion and action.

Thank you for standing with us as we begin this new chapter. Let this year be one of healing, connection, courage, and continued progress.

With gratitude and love,

Ysidra Tellez-Koch, LMHC
